So we have some new friends named Derek and Holly. Derek has his own blog and reading his blog has convinced me to resurrect my own blog. Ta-dah!

So things have been pretty busy in Dayton. We went to the Renaissance Festival last weekend and had a pretty kick ass time. I don't have any pictures yet but I can guarentee you there were bread bowls and funnel cakes all around. I'm so happy fall is here. Pumpkins, cool weather, Halloween, hot chocolate and pumpkin pie at McDonalds... Life couldn't get better.

I've also been doing a little crafting lately. I want to quilt but I have no one to quilt for. It feels a little selfish to quilt for myself since we have 548 quilts and blankets. I decided that decorative quilting would help me in two ways. 1) it will help me practice machine quilting and 2) it will give me practice using shapes other than squares. I'm pretty good with geometric shapes (as seen here) So anyway... here's what I've been working on. It took me a total of about 5 hours. My only regret is that I forgot to add the pumpkin stem. *sigh* What do you think?





In other news, I'm going back to Paris this winter. I just realized I never posted pictures from my last trip. I'm more excited about this trip because I'm getting better at French and I feel like I actually know and remember the city. I'm also making a short trip to London (like last year) but this time we'll get to see everything we didn't get to see last time. Should be a hoot. =)
